Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone out there. Instead of carving a typical jack-o-lantern type of face, this year I carved the famous Quake "Q". Then I torched my sister's pumpkin, and turned it into a smoke bomb.
This is a photoshop image not my pumpkin, but it looks like it.

GameSpot has a new Preview And also a new Monster called the Chumtoad. It was mentioned as food for the Alien Grunts and seems like the low life of the next dimension. They are abused by all creatures.

Free Half-life CD

The free Half-life CD is out at Electronics Boutique and Best Buy. I wish there was one near me. The CD will loose half of its total matter in around five months but the full game should be out by then. The full CD won't deteriorate for another year. Found at Jaspurs'.(not the deterioration stuff)

WinAmp ver. 1.55

I just downloaded the New WinAmp and it is cool except it won't play single files unless they're in a play list or I'm alredy in the Program. It also can change the embedded tags and has a wider variety of song types to choose from in it. I'd still recomend it. Get it here

Dungeon Keeper

I just got the PCGamer CD and installed Dungeon Keeper. It is AWESOME! The basic architechure is Quake meets Warcraft. Except this time your on the evil side trying to get rid of the Good guys. You can play in an overhead view or possess one of your minions and walk around Quake style. I'm not sure what engine it uses. The environment looks like Quake with sprites. The characters are really cool to; and the ending cinematic adds real drama to it.

Daylight's savings time

Set your clocks back an hour tonight so you can get an extra hour of sleep (or Quake, whatever you do at night)

Shadow Warrior Books

A book on Shadow Warrior came out and another is being written. It's amazing how much milage these games get. New: Shadow Warrior cars.

The Half-life Corridor has changed it's name to the Exponential Half-life. The new logo reminds me of the Silverchair Frogstomp CD. Har har, I'm still the only one with Half-life art there.

Cool demo

Pretty good, isn't it. Of course it would come out when I have a report due, but what can I do. I love the tank, it's cool how he doesn't fire often so you can just keep firing at him like he's the terminator and he'll start bleeding. It's way to cool. What's the next game to come out, Unreal?

Crack dot com

I'm going to ramble about a story. I was at school working on the yearbook, getting somewhat bored, when I looked on the screen and saw a folder named "church files". Being curious I check it out out and immediatetly see abuse and a bunch of other games. I start running Abuse and then see that it is made by crack dot com. That night I check out crack.com and, behold, there is a new 3-D game coming. Trés bien, n'est pas? This new game is called Golgotha. It can be played both in first-person view or overhead. The models look really cool.

Downsizing

I'm thinking about reducing the enemy pictures to smaller thumbnails in order to save space. I only get two Meg and I'm too cheap to pay five dollars a month to get ten Meg.

Fixed Hexen 2 Pic page.

I noticed that the Hexen 2 picture page had a few broken images. The paldin pic never was uploaded, as well as the hydra, and I added the red spider and yellow spider instead of just having one. I'm still looking for pics of the Horsemen.

Found on sCary's Wack links a web site dat translates regular honkybonics into jibe. It be somewhut humo'ous, unless someone be offended, den I hated it fum de start.

MIB's go 3-D

Remember The King's Quest series or even The Hugo & Penelope trilogy? Add rendered versions of those with the fully 3-D characters like in Quake, and you know what MIB the game is like. Although the demo is somewhat pointless, (you can't do much before the bomb explodes and kills you), the preview screenshots during the install process looked very cool. I'm broke and plan the buy, if I have money, either Quake 2 or halflife. So I'll never know.

Jedi Knight is out

As you can see, I'm making up for making comments. The game should be in stores now, but when does that ever really happen.

Bullchicken? Bullsquid? Chickensquid? Squidenbullchick?

The yellow creature is called the Bullsquid. All references on the OGR page have been changed to fix this error. [Gastropolypus toxophlegmata] I have no idea how they got that.

New OGR Half-life Monster

OGR has a new monster up. It is one of the monsters that yoour probably familiar with already. One strange thing is that last week the bullchicken was up. Now for the "previous monsters" links, they call it a bullsquid.

Jedi Apologees

I'm sorry that I said Jedi Knight wasn't worth playing. Last Knight I played the demo through and found out that the game is very complex, and worth while. I will add a Jedi Knight section as soon as I can.

Quake 2 is not a sequel

Someone in the Gamespot Quake 2 poll said Quake 2 was a sequel, and that sequels always get worse. That is not true. Quake 2 will be a million times better than Quake 1.
  1. Doom 2 was better than Doom 1.
  2. Hexen 2 is a lot better than Hexen 1 (Hexen 1 was cool too)
  3. Commander Keen 4,5 & 6 were better than Keen 1,2 & 3.
  4. The Duke series keeps getting better.
  5. Tremors 2 was better than Tremors 1 (movie not a game)

But "Back to the Future 2 wasn't as good as Part 1 or 3

Computer Problems

I decided to play lameduke, BUUUUT, it olny work in DOS, so I reboot to DOS, then I can't get back to Win95, and I delete Win95, and find out that's not the problem, and then nothing works, but I finally fixed everything. Ensoniq's got this neat Instalwizard plugin thing. Very useful.

Jedi Knight is no Quake killer

Warning: If you love Jedi Knight, don't read this submission!
I downloaded Jedi Knight yesterday, and I feel that it was somewhat of a disappointment. First of all, it was 20 Meg, and for one level, that is a way too much. Then I didn't have the right version of Direct X so another 3.6 Meg download followed. Once I finally got the game running, I was somewhat disappointed at the gameplay. The architecture reminded me of things I've seen in the build engine. There were some good points too. The character animation was very well done. The spaceship at the beginning was a very nice touch. The weapons were very amusing, but not as inventive as I would expect a Star Wars game to be. Sorry if I have offended any loyal fans, but i just finished playing Shivers, and I started Shivers 2, so my head really hurts.

I am starting to put information on the popular Pre-Quake and build engine games. I only have the weapons page started and most of the information is incomplete. If anyone is actually reading this, and wants to contribute info, e-mail me or page me at ICQ #1274240.

First news update:

I decide to start putting news on my page. It probably won't be updated everyday, but it gives me something to do. Be sure to check both my Geocities page and my Tripod page. The Geocities account focuses on the information (weapons, enemies, main characters, etc...) and also has pictures of the enemies. The tripod account has enemy pictures from all the good screenshots. I painstakingly cut out each and every one of the 120 picture. Please do not just pass them by. Plus, I don't own them so you can grab them for your own page. My main page has some stuff that doesn't relate to games and most of the internal links haven't been updated since 1995. That's what my cat's page says, but I don't like to argue with her.
