Mods info

Halflife.net posted this little bit on mods:

We're really excited to see such a high level of interest in Half-Life from the mod community. While we haven't announced any authorized expansion packs yet*, we're really looking forward to seeing what people come up with and want to support them as best we can.

Half-Life is a really flexible platform for development, and an add-on using the Half-Life engine doesn't have to look anything like the game we've created with it. From the sound of the projects I've read about, I expect that folks will have a lot of new and exciting games to play in the months after Half-Life hits the shelves. If a team develops an add-on that they would like to publish, they should contact me at het3@valvesoftware.com, and I can advise them about Sierra's policies regarding commercial add-ons for Half-Life.

Level 5 Info

This page on the Radioactive Software website has more information on the Level 5 addon pack for Half-Life. I'm as yet unsure if HL did indeed go gold yesterday, but I'll find out...

Half-Life Add-On & Interview

   I saw over on Blues that Radioactive Software are currently working on an addon pack for Half-Life. Here is the press-release;
Bloomington, Indiana - RadioActive Software is proud to announce this Halloween, that we have begun work on a Half-Life expansion, tentatively titled "Half Life: Level 5".

In Level 5, you play Sara Wilson, a British-born Pathogen/Toxin expert, trained by the U.S. army to contain and identify possible threats to soldiers.

Level five begins at nearly the same time that Half-Life does, presenting a different take on the various events that occur. However, Level Five will feature new levels and possibly new enemies as well.

Half Life: Level Five is being developed by RadioActive Software, a software developer based in Bloomington, Indiana. RAS is also busy on it's first original game, Conflict.

There is also an interview over on PC Arena with Harry Teasley of Valve, its a good read too.

New Screensaver & Updates

AutoMag over at the Half-Life Skins Emporium let me know that he was so bored waiting for Half-Life that he made a new screensaver (1.1MB).

Also I've taken a little hunt over my own news archives and managed to put together all the press releases since way back this time last year, feel free to take a look just for curiosities sake.

And I've also just been told by KoRn of his rather cool HL website, Half-Life AXG, nice site m8. BTW, AXG stands for Adrenaline Xtreme Gaming.

Oh and Dann, like the logo! ;-)

Going, Going, Going. GOLD! (almost)

According to Next-Generation (a site I've never heard about until about five minutes ago!) in an aricle called Half-Life's Golden Promise states that Half-Life will indeed go Gold by tomorrow, Sunday, ie: 1st November.

Cool eh? :-) I saw this via Blues.

Woah! Speed-Demon!

Ok, I'm back... (for those that might of noticed I've not been updating for the last few days) why was I away? Well I've finally built my ultimate kick-half-life-ass PC. Its taken a few days to get completly setup but now its running smoother and more importantly sexier than any PC I've ever managed to get my grubby mitts on!

I've added the specification to the webmaster bios page if you really wanted to drool over the system specs...

Expect a bunch of extras added to the site tomorrow morning & evening including those long awaited Weapons & Creatures sections!

Oh, and I only just found out about this page which decided to nick our exclusive screenie.... thanks a bunch.
