And when we are known for our maps you guys will get tons of stuff to

Santa PPM
Steve Theodore from Valve, whipped up a nice
Santa PPM for everyone to use
in DM. It's a quality one, so
get it, because people are going to use it and you're going to be lagged while it downloads during
a game anyway. And even if you never DM, type 'developer 1' in the console and then 'thirdperson'.
Even when he's holding the .357 or tip-toeing over to place a tripmine on a wall, he never looses
that cristmas-card charm.
Also the BMP for it to work was released seperately, but I packaged it up all
nice for you.
3D modeller and skinner needed
Here's some news on the next patch, stolen from sCary's:
Our next update should be out in a matter of days, and includes much stronger networking than the original code. We've also kept a very close eye on what the community reaction has been, and we're planning on addressing the key points in TF2. John and I tend to tease the HL guys by telling them that HL was in fact just a big net test for TF2 ;)

Teamplay support will be in before you can say abracadabra
3D modeller and skinner needed
Automag of an upcoming editing site is looking for a few volunteers:
I and a few others are preparing to open a major Half-Life Editing site
and are currently looking for an individual experienced in the
development of skins and models using 3D Studio Max. This individual
must have some knowledge of HTML also and be able to write tutorials on
the development of skins and models. So if you want to join our venture
and feel you can contribute to this cause please contact me AutoMag at

StarCraft update
For all you StarCraft fans who also like Half-life, hears the latest from the StarCraft TC:
Dear Half-Life Community:
In the past 2 weeks, we have emailed Blizzard Entertainment to
confirm use of their copyrighted material (Namely insignficant
weapon names etc.). Their Vice President, Paul Sams, has replied
with the same message to 2 different messages from 2 different
people, inferring that he simply skimmed over the message instead
of reading it. Without this copyrighted material, we can not promise
anything, of course, since we are smarter than the average bear,
we can evade copyright laws easily by using slang names instead
of the ones in the Starcraft game. But, by not replying to my
second message, Blizzard is basically delaying a mod with great
potentional. So if you wish, in support of our cause, email Blizzard
Support who will forward the message to Mr. Sams at
support@blizzard.com , be sure to stress the use of the name and
how it won't destroy any so called "advantage" they have. Also, we
are scheduling a Suggestion Meeting on IRC in the near future, all
sites that received this message will receive another one when we
get a time and day setup. Also, we are still in need of people,
email mikeaevans@mindspring.com if you specialize in anything
that could help us on the Half-Life --> Starcraft Total Conversion.
Finally, Half-Life Center, our gracious hosts, will be opening in early
January at http://halflife.mgon.com .

Adopt a Snark
This has got to be one of the funniest/coolest pages I've seen. It's the adopt a snark page. So head
on over and get one before they're all gone. Found by Alien HQ.

HUGE! TeamFortress II Preview
An totally pant-wetting, kick-ass, super-duper, wahey kewl... get the picture? TeamFortress II preview is to be found over on GameCenter take a look here. Also they have a help section with useful bits and bobs... although why some of you are having trouble with the game I gave no-idea...
Speaking of unskilled Half-Life'ers out there, this page has downloadable saved games for the beginning of each level on the difficult skill setting.
Half-Life Workshop
Also the Half-Life Workshop is now online on Halflife.net. I think that they need to spend quite a while catching up-to the help availiable on Half-life Editing Resource Center but then again hopefuly their will actually make sense!
